for those that haven't rec'd the EIP check (aka stimulus check or CARES act payment)either by direct deposit or mail you can now call the IRS. Mind you there is limited staff and probably millions of ppl trying to contact them now so you'll have to be extremely patient. You may want to set your phone down on its charger and just wait.
The SSI and other categories in this 'wave' who had either direct deposit or direct express were supposed to have rec'd the deposit on May 13. Some did but MANY (including my husband)did NOT. Those who normally get their checks via mail the IRS was supposed to be sending them out that Friday,May 15. It remains to be seen how many of those people will actually get their check. BTW. There is a special category for ppl who have a payee. i'm not addressing that here. You can find that information at IRS.gov. If you have any questions re the payee payment and can't locate it at the IRS shoot a question my way and I will look it up for you. I'd prefer you do it yourself but if worse comes to worse i can look it up and post it. For now, here's the no for all the folks who did NOT get their checks as noted.

Very helpful info, jpii. Thanks!
If they went out on Friday, the 15th, they should be arriving any day now.

well, folks,i called the no and given our situation it is set up more for ppl who actually file taxes. For everyone else the automated message basically says to check at irs.gov. i never even reached a live agent. If you're using the GET MY PAYMENT tool at the irs site you MIGHT be able to get some info. So far i've gotten the "we're working on this" message. NOTE: the get my payment tool does not like all browsers. Your best bet is to use Explorer or Edge(Microsoft)browsers. You would think they'd set it up to work across all browsers. Apparently that makes too much sense for these ppl. Below is a you tube from a guy that has been following the IRS news releases right along and he always has good info when and IF he can get it. Sometimes he does the program with his wife. Today he was by himself.
You may find out what you want to know here::

Wow, Ray, great. Were you on hold for very long? I haven't called. I'm still waiting it out. I wonder if there is any order to how they are sending out the checks? Alphabetically? By filing status?
Also, jpii, do you know when they began to issue the checks? I know those with direct deposit were the first to receive the payments.

Wow, 10 minutes is not bad at all. I haven't filed taxes for this year and we have not received any checks either. I wonder if they are sending checks to those who already filed first for 2019? Direct depositors got theirs before anyone else. The IRS will have to go off our 2018 tax return. Since they extended the deadline to July 15th, I've been in no big hurry.
It's good you now have a date when it will be mailed.

Ray, what number did you press at the prompt? I did something wrong and went around in circles ending up at the main menu several times. Then gave up. I know i must have pressed the wrong number. Can you tell me how you got through? Thanks!! I'll give it another try. Getting the IRS was no problem. i goofed up when it came to getting a LIVE agent.

jpii, once you are connected, listen to the menu and first press 1 for English. Continue to listen and then Press 7.

got it. fantastic. thank you!! Calling now. will let you know how it goes. NOPE. Did not get a LIVE AGENT. It said press 2 for non filer and went through the whole thing about you will not have to do anything and to visit Irs.gov and do the Get My Payment tool. NOTHING else. It said what i already knew. if you get SSI etc the check will be sent how we normally receive, either by direct deposit, mail or that card. Same as the last time. I went around in circles back to the menu. Wondering what Ray pressed to actually get someone. Ready to pull my grey hair out at this point. If they mailed the check Friday like the website said it would have been here today. NOTHING. No pending transactions at the bank either. There has to be some way to get hold of these ppl. FRUSTRATED. The checks are almost all done now.

Well, dang. Did it ring when you pressed #7? Maybe he got through because he's a filer and you are not? Have you gone to the irs.gov website for non filers? I know they have people jumping through hoops. I couldn't get anywhere when they asked for a mobile phone number. Neither of ours was acceptable. I was so disgusted.

AH. I'll betcha that's the reason. The Get My Payment tool just tells me they don't have info and they're 'working' on it. Ridiculous.I have the same last name as hubbs, same address..what on earth..the SAME BANK for crying out loud. We have separate accounts so that shouldn't be an issue. I'm going to call tomorrow and press the button for filer and that way i will get an agent. At least i'll get a live person. They may not like it but i'm not getting any information any other way.Have you gotten any info from the Get My Payment tool?
