Piers Morgan will give you quite a bit to disagree with him about but it can’t be denied that when it comes to his positions on the mewling and foot-stomping of social justice advocates and the eye-roll worthy self-victimization of some of the most privileged people in the world, he’s spot on. He proved it again when he wrote a response to the interview Meghan Markle and Harry Windsor gave to Oprah Winfrey.
The claims made by the ex-royal couple ranged from claiming that someone in the royal family was racist to Markle apparently suffering from depression because she was stuck inside a palatial estate with no help for her mental state. Morgan took aim at each one and executed them one by one using nothing but simple questions, logic, and a bit of knowledge about royal protocol.
Morgan began by calling the entire display a “two-hour orgy of pious, self-indulgent, score-settling twaddle” before proceeding to label the interview “horrendously hypocritical” and “contradictory”:

The most “explosive revelation” was the fact that someone in the Royal Family is a racist because they asked what color Markle’s baby would be during a conversation with Harry:
The questions have to be asked. Was it an innocent question? Who said it? What prompted the question? What was the reaction to the answer?
Neither Harry nor Markle say. As Morgan points out, we’re just left to believe that the entire Royal institution is racist, which is wildly unfair, especially to the Queen for whom both the spoiled complainers claim they have nothing but love and respect. Yet, when it came to insinuating that race was the deciding factor in withdrawing a title from their son Archie, Morgan points out that this is a decision ultimately left up to the Queen:
Meghan followed up by asserting, without providing any evidence, that the Royal Family decided to change the rules specifically to prevent her son Archie from being a Prince, because of his skin colour.
Again, no name was given for the appalling racist at the Palace responsible for such a disgusting discriminatory decision.
But, as Meghan and Harry both know, the only person who has final say over titles is the Queen.
So, in making this astonishing unproven claim, they’re effectively branding Her Majesty, Harry’s grandmother, a racist.
It’s hard to think of a more disgraceful slur to make against a woman who has devoted her whole life to the service of her country and the Commonwealth.
The Queen is not a racist and has never been a racist.
Very little of what Markle is claiming really adds up and, as Morgan makes clear, it sounds more like the complaints of people with an agenda who had everything anyone could ever want given to them but could really only appreciate how useful it all was in making them appear as victims for self-servicing gains.
The couple lives a glorious life that was provided to them by the Crown, and the media frenzy surrounding their departure has only added to their bank account. It’s likely that there are elements of truth to their story, but it’s hard to imagine that the villainous brush with which the couple paints the Royal Family is actually the whole story, if even a quarter of the story.
The hype is out, however. It’s likely we’re going to get responses from the Royal Family’s people over the course of the week which will illuminate more of the story, but it likely won’t matter to many who have been caught up in the drama and celebrity of Harry and Meghan. The obvious gaps in the story and glaring hypocrisies won’t go noticed so long as the American media machine is keeping the narrative right where they want it.
